The McEwen Adventure

Last Saturday the majority of the McEwen's went Dog Sledding! It's a family hobby. Man it was so much fun! Cory was excited that he got to take some of my brother-in-law's dogs out for a run. He was like fish to water again. I got to hear all the old stories what it was like growing up doing this. While Cory, my brother-in-law and mother-in-law ran the dogs to take the edge off of them, me and my sister-in-laws all played with the kids. I was excited for Deven because this would be his first time playing in the snow. He didn't really liked being bundled up with multiple layers... but after a while he got used to it. I took some pictures of the some of the stuff he wore. His grandma McEwen found some long underwear. I thought it would be a perfect time to wear it. So anyway, we took sleds and slid down hills, we played in the snow. Deven loved looking and taking to the psycho dogs. Did you know that these dogs know when they are going to go for a run? Before the run they have a ton of energy built up. It's crazy! Then as soon as you get going on the sled they are quiet! When cory told me this when we were dating, I didn't believe him until he actually took me on a sled. He says they are real athletes. Which makes sense to me. I remember going to track and cross county meets and sort of seeing the same thing. Cory took me and Deven out for a ride. I wish I would have taken my camera on the ride. but i was holding Deven. After all the dogs were good to go, I took all of the kids and warmed them up in the truck. we snacked on food and had lunch. Amy my sister-in-law challenged me later that i should start a snowball fight with my younger sister-in-law jessi. She had been wanting to start one all day. We really got into in. Then Cory came and white washed us both! me the most! We are definitely a winter family. I would rather it be cold and bundle up than it be hot trying to cool off. Plus there are always ways to warm up. Hot Coco, a fire place, warm blanket, snuggling with my husband; and i know he will always warm me up.
